Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) offers several categories of scholarships to qualifying students. This is made possible by the generous support of many community individuals and organizations. Some are general need based scholarships for students in any field. Some are dedicated to students in such disciplines as culinary arts, HVAC, nursing and allied health.
Each application is reviewed and ranked by members of the SKYCTC Scholarship Committee. Decisions of the committee are final and are made without regard to race, color, age, sex, religion, national origin, disability or veteran status, except in cases where such is listed as determining criteria.
If the applicant is not eligible for awards, the Scholarship Coordinator will notify the student via the email account provided on the scholarship application. If the applicant is eligible and funds are available, the student will receive an acceptance letter at the address provided on the scholarship application. Acceptance letters must be returned to the Financial Aid Office along with a Thank you letter by the date listed on the letter in order for the award to be added to the student's financial aid account. All recipients of scholarship funds from SKYCTC must file a FAFSA annually, maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress, and meet criteria for the awards they receive. AirGas Mid-America Welding Scholarship Deadline May 15, 2015
Airgas Mid-America, Inc. established this $500 scholarship for students enrolled in the Welding Technology program. The scholarship is open to any student currently enrolled in the Welding Technology Program. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), have completed 12 credits and be enrolled at least part-time. The recipient must reapply each semester in order to be considered by the scholarship committee and the award is contingent on the student maintaining a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Altrusa Olive Gillespie Scholarship Deadline May 15 2015
This scholarship was established in 2005. Preference for this scholarship is for students who are financially needed in resides in Warren County. Also, students must be over the age of 30, widowed, or divorced and have children under the age of 18. Students must be enrolled full time and complete a FAFSA for the academic year.

This scholarship was established in 2015. Student must be at least part-time. Students must reapply each semester for scholarship and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Student must complete a FAFSA, and selection will be based upon financial need.
Dr. Lewis and Selma Dickinson Practical Nursing Scholarship Deadline July 29, 2015
This scholarship, established in 2007 by the children of Glasgow Native, Dr. Lewis Dickinson, is designed to assist students from Glasgow/Barren County to attend the Practical Nursing program at the Glasgow Campus. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need. Award amounts vary per academic year.

This scholarship is open to any student from Allen, Barren, Metcalfe or Monroe Counties. First preference is given to Surgical Technology students, if none available will go to Allied Health/Nursing programs. Must be full time with 12 credit hours accumulated and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

This scholarship is awarded to students from Franklin-Simpson County to attend Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Applicants who demonstrate or indicate financial need will receive preference. Students must be enrolled at least part-time and have completed 12 semester hours with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The family of Gerald A. Embry, a former Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College teacher and administrator killed in a tragic automobile accident, established this scholarship fund for SKYCTC students attending a Warren County campus that demonstrates the need of financial assistance and has demonstrated the potential for achieving academic success. Any SKYCTC student who has completed 12 credit hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA may apply. A letter of recommendation from an instructor or advisor is required with the application.

This scholarship shall be awarded to students enrolled in the Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College/Glasgow Campus Practical Nursing program and have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence.
The Michael T. Bardin Scholarship was established by Mr. Bardin to recognize students of Kentucky with strength of character, academic achievement and financial need. Mr. Bardin worked for 27 years at Bowling Green Area Vocational School where he served as principal for 13 years. His belief in education and generosity will create a lasting legacy affecting the lives of SKYCTC students, families and our communities. To be eligible, students must be a US Citizen and KY resident who have completed 12 semester credits at SKYCTC. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students are required to submit two character references. Award amounts vary per academic year and application merit.
The Robert and Mary L. Tincher HVAC Scholarship is available to first-year, core HVAC students. The student(s) must be a graduate of Bowling Green High School or Warren County Public Schools within two years prior to scholarship award. Selection is based on financial need. The recipient(s) will receive $2500 for one term. Recipient must reapply each semester in order to be considered for scholarship. This scholarship is renewable only if the student maintains a 2.0 grade average in the HVAC program.
Sandy Jones Boussard Scholarship Deadline May 15, 2015
This scholarship shall be awarded to students who have demonstrated the potential for achieving academic excellence. Student must be enrolled full time and have accumulated at least 12 credit hours. Student must be in good academic standing with a minimum overall GPA of 2.75. Preference will be given to Housing Authority residents who apply; otherwise, the scholarship will be available for Business Studies students.

The Culinary Arts Department at SKYCTC offers one $500 scholarship each semester to a Culinary Arts student who is in at least the second semester of the program, enrolled full time and demonstrates excellent potential for success in the culinary industry.
The Pan Oston-Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College Scholarship provides funds for two students to attend SKYCTC full time for one academic year. Only Pan Oston employees or family members may apply. Family members include spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, grandchild or step-grandchild. Commonwealth Scholarship *Deadline May 15, 2015
Kentucky residents who graduate in the top 25% of their high school class and will be enrolled at least part-time time are eligible to apply for this nonrenewable, one-year tuition scholarship. Priority is given to 2015 high school graduates; however, 2014 graduates may apply. Recipients may apply for a second-year award provided they have successfully completed at least 24 credit hours at SKYCTC and have maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average. The John T. Smith Scholarship is available to African-American Kentucky residents who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and demonstrate a need for financial support. This one-year, nonrenewable tuition scholarship can be pro-rated for less-than-full-time students. Recipients may apply for a second year award provided they maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Award amounts vary per academic year.

These prestigious, nonrenewable scholarships are merit-based awards available to full-time students pursuing a diploma or degree. These scholarships are based upon academic excellence, past work performance, involvement in extracurricular or community activities, overall student character and/or financial need. Applicants must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.2 (high school or college) and an ACT composite score of 21 OR a COMPASS sum of 171 points. Award amounts vary per academic year.
PNC Skilled Workforce Investment Scholarship * Deadline May 15, 2015
This scholarship is for students from low- to moderate-income households. Students in high-wage, high-demand workforce development programs and/or who plan to transfer to a Kentucky four-year university to earn a baccalaureate degree are eligible to apply as well. This scholarship is awarded for $500.00 for tuition only. Applicants must have a FAFSA on file and complete the appropriate application for this scholarship. Applications will be forwarded to the KCTCS Foundation and will be screened by a scholarship committee.
KCTCS Workforce Development Transfer Scholarship* Deadline May 15, 2015
KCTCS provides two $4000 scholarships to second-year students who plan to earn a degree from KCTCS and then transfer to a Kentucky public or independent four-year college or university. One additional $3000 scholarship is available to a first-year student and is renewable if the student maintains good academic standing. Applicants must be enrolled in a science, technology, engineering or mathematic discipline, health professions, or applied sciences. Recommendations from Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College are forwarded to the KCTCS Scholarship Committee for final selection.
Kentucky Colonel’s Better Life Scholarship *Deadline May 15, 2015
At least one student in each of the 16 KCTCS college districts will be selected to receive a $2500 scholarship to cover tuition, books, and other educational expenses. Recipients must be a Kentucky resident, attend school full time, pursue an associate degree, be a single working parent with one or more children under the age of 12, demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and potential for academic success, and demonstrate financial need not met by other sources. This scholarship is automatically renewable for the second year provided the student meets satisfactory academic progress criteria and remains enrolled full time.
National City Book (PNC) Scholarship * Deadline May 15, 2015
National City Bank (PNC) awards students $250 scholarships to assist with textbook expenses. Applicants must be from low/moderate income households. Recommendations from Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College are forwarded to the KCTCS Scholarship Committee for final selection.
The Kentucky Business Society Scholarship
The Kentucky Business Society (KBS) offers two scholarships, one for $500 and one for $250. Students must be majoring in a business-related program, such as office systems, management, marketing, finance, accounting, economics, information systems, etc., and must be currently enrolled in at least six credit hours. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation’s scholarships are designed to encourage and support outstanding students who have a breadth of interests, work hard, demonstrate a strong will to succeed, and have financial need.
