Application Requirements for all Scholarships

  • Apply Online beginning November 15 for the following fall/spring semesters
  • Deadline for all applications is March 1
  • Scholarship applicants must have a FAFSA on file
  • Scholarships with a * means a separate application is require
  • All documents must be returned to the financial aid office

 

ALLIED HEALTH

Dr. Lewis and Selma Dickinson Practical Nursing Scholarship

  • Glasgow/Barren County resident
  • Student must be enrolled in the SKYCTC/Glasgow Campus Practical Nursing program
  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA overall
  • Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need
  • Award amounts vary per academic year

Lake Cumberland Home Health Betty Maybrier

  • Student must be enrolled in the SKYCTC/Glasgow Campus Practical Nursing program
  • Student must demonstrate the potential for achieving academic excellence

Greenview Regional Hospital Scholarship for Allied Health/Nursing

  • Student must be enrolled at least part time in the Allied Health or Nursing programs
  • Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA overall
  • Recipients will be determined based on financial need
  • Student shall have one or more clinical rotations at Greenview Hospital
  • Award amounts vary per academic year

Tonya Jones Minton Memorial Scholarship

  • Established by Dr. Bharat Mody
  • Open to students from Allen, Barren, Metcalfe or Monroe Counties
  • First preference is given to Surgical Technology students; if none available will go to Allied Health/Nursing program students
  • Student must be enrolled full time with 12 credit hours accumulated
  • Must have 3.0 GPA overall

COLLISION REPAIR

Ronald Halcomb Memorial Scholarship

  • Student must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours) in the Collision Repair program
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall
  • Priority will be given for financial need

SOKY Region Antique Automobile Club of America Scholarship

  • Available to SKYCTC students enrolled in the Automotive Technology and Collision Repair programs.
  • Students must be a Kentucky resident and enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours).
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall.
  • Must complete FAFSA, priority will be given for financial need 

CULINARY ARTS

Calvin and Rosella Spivey Isbell Scholarship for Culinary Arts

  • Student must be enrolled in Culinary Arts program
  • Student must be enrolled full time with 12 credit hours accumulated
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA overall
  • Award amounts vary per academic year

Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College Culinary Arts Scholarship

  • Student must be enrolled full time in Culinary Arts program
  • Student must be in at least the second semester of the program
  • Student must demonstrates excellent potential for success in the culinary industry

WELDING

AirGas Mid-America Welding Scholarship

  • Student musts be enrolled in the Welding Technology program
  • Student must be enrolled at least part time with 12 credit hours accumulated
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA overall
  • Recipient must reapply each semester

Jerry E. Baker Scholarship

  • Student must be enrolled in the Welding Technology program
  • Student must be enrolled at least part-time with 12 credit hours accumulated
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA overall
  • Recipient must reapply each year

Stewart Richey Construction Scholarship

Available to SKYCTC students who have successfully completed the first semester of either the HVAC or Welding program

  • Must be enrolled at least part-time and be in good standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Priority will be given to Stewart Richey Construction employees or children of employees
  • Scholarship funds are awarded for books and tuition only and will be paid over the course of three semesters ($500/semester)
  • Recipient will be required to participate in a 16-hour job shadow program in the selected trade area at Stewart Richey Construction during the award period


GENERAL AND NEED BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Alice Benham Honorary Scholarship

  • Open to both first-time and current SKYCTC students, full or part-time
  • Must complete FAFSA, first priority for financial need
  • Preference will be given to applicants having a 3.0 GPA or greater (high school or college) and/or the highest test scores (ACT, Compass,etc.)

Altrusa Olive Gillespie Scholarship

  • Available to female Warren County residents
  • Preference given to a non-traditional student, enrolled at least part-time
  • Selection will be based on financial need

Bowling Green-Warren County Contractors Licensing Board Scholarship

  • Available to students from Bowling Green-Warren County pursuing an Electrical or HVAC certificate or degree
  • Must complete FAFSA, priority will be given for financial need

Clarks Landing Scholarship

  • Must be a Kentucky resident
  • Have and  maintain a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled at least part-time ( 6 credit hours or more)
  • Priority is given for financial need and only applied to the extent that financial aid does not cover tutition, fees and textbook expenses.

Donald R. Miller Scholarship

  • Student must be at least part-time
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Selection will be based upon financial need
  • Recipient must reapply each semester

Gerald A. Embry Memorial Scholarship

  • Student must attend a Warren County SKYCTC campus
  • Student must have accumulated 12 credit hours
  • Student must have a minimum 2.5 GPA overall
  • Student must demonstrate financial need and the potential for achieving academic success

Jeanette Penrod Miller Scholarship

  • First priortiy is given to students from Bulter or Logan counties
  • Student must be enrolled at least part-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher

Meritor Scholarship

  • Available to Franklin Simpson High School graduates who will pursue a STEM-related degree (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) at SKYCTC
  • Applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate involvement and overall good student character
  • Priority will be given for financial need
  • Award will cover 12 credit hours of tuition per semester plus student fees for one academic year, not to exceed $3,800. Scholarship is non-renewable

Michael T. Bardin Scholarship  

  • Students must be a US Citizen AND KY resident
  • Student must have accumulated 12 credit hours at SKYCTC
  • Award amounts vary per academic year and application merit
  • Student must demonstrate the need of financial assistance

Perry Cochran Memorial Scholarship

  • Available to SKYCTC students who have completed 12 hours and are pursuing an Associate in Arts degree
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall
  • Student must present an art portfolio or one-page essay discussing art and career to the SKYCTC Art Club and faculty sponsor

Phi Beta Lambda Scholarship

  • Available to students pursuing an Administrative Office Technology or Medical Information Technology degree. Second priority given to students in Business Administration Systems.
  • Student must be enrolled full-time and have completed 12 credit hours at SKYCTC with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must complete FAFSA, priority will be given for financial need

R obert and Mary Tincher Charitable Foundation, Inc. Scholarship

  • Student must be a Bowling Green or Warren County high school graduate who desires to pursue a post-secondary education and training at any SKYCTC campuses within Warren County
  • Maintain 2.0 GPA overall
  • Student must demonstrate the need of financial assistance
  • Recipient must demonstrate the potential in achieving academic excellence

Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College Staff Council Scholarship

  • Student must be currently enrolled at SKYCTC
  • Student must have completed 24 or more academic credits within KCTCS
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Scholarships are given based on availability of funds

Elizabeth Lyons Memorial Staff Council Scholarship

  • Student must be currently enrolled at SKYCTC
  • Student must have completed 24 or more academic credits within KCTCS
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Scholarships are given based on availability of funds

SKYCTC Faculty Senate Scholarship

  • Available to first-time SKYCTC students who have earned no more than twelve (12) college credit hours and have successfully completed high school or earned a GED.
  • Award(s) will be made to both full-time (at least 12 credit hours/semester) and part-time (at least 6 credit hours/semester) students based on availability of funds. Full-time recipients will receive the first half of the award for the fall semester and the second half of the award for the spring semester, if they have maintained at least a 2.0 GPA for the fall semester (not cumulative) and are registered for at least 12 credit hours for the spring semester. Part-time recipients will receive the award in the semester they are registered.
  • Must complete FAFSA, priority will be given for financial need

Laura Goad Turner Scholarship

  • Open to any student from Scottsville-Allen County
  • Student must be enrolled at least part-time
  • Selection will be based upon financial need

 SIMPSON COUNTY

Franklin Bank & Trust Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a Franklin/Simpson County resident
  • Student must be enrolled at least part-time and have accumulated 12 credit hours
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA overall
  • Student must demonstrate the need of financial assistance
  • Recipient must reapply each semester

Leon & Lassie Page Scholarship

  • Franklin/Simpson County resident
  • Students must be enrolled at least part time and have accumulated 12 credit hours
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA overall
  • Student must demonstrate the need of financial assistance

HOUSING AUTHORITY OR BUSINESS STUDIES

Sandy Jones Boussard Scholarship

  • Preference will be given to Housing Authority residents; otherwise the scholarship will be available for Business Studies students
  • Student must demonstrate the potential for achieving academic success
  • Student must be enrolled full time and have accumulated 12 credit hours
  • Student must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.75 GPA overall
