Fall Classes Update

Dear SKYCTC Student,

Uncertainty, caution, and fear are all emotions Americans are feeling. These feelings are human and justified during a global pandemic. SKYCTC recognizes this, which is why we have never been more dedicated to providing you with a safe, high-quality education that best positions you for a rewarding future. Life moves forward, and we encourage you to stick with us on the journey.

First, SKYCTC is marching into a brighter future. Registration is in motion for summer and fall classes, with current enrollment looking strong. Summer is divided into two sessions, which will primarily be online with a few select in-person classes in July, as long as Governor Beshear allows. Our fall class schedule will have a wide variety of on-campus, hybrid, and online courses.

Second, SKYCTC innovated to meet your needs. Over the past few years, SKYCTC converted many of its programs into flexible delivery models that require students to be on campus less each week, while providing you with more time for life, a job and your loved ones. While we did not anticipate a global pandemic changing life so much, our flex models are the perfect balance of on-campus and remote study, with personalized attention from faculty and staff.

Third, it pays to graduate from SKYCTC. If you are uncertain whether higher education is worth your investment right now, just ask our graduates. SKYCTC has the highest job placement rate in Kentucky companies within 3-years after graduation, as compared to graduates from every other college or university in the Commonwealth. But what about upward mobility in your career? SKYCTC graduates earn higher salaries 10-years after graduation than do graduates from 20 out of 24 Kentucky public colleges and universities.

And, if you are still not convinced, ask around. This year, the Aspen Institute named SKYCTC as one of America’s 150 highest performing community colleges for its outstanding retention rates, graduation rates, and employment outcomes after graduation.  We were also named one of America’s highest-performing community colleges for the outcomes of low-income and under-represented minority students in science, technology, engineering and math. Lastly, SKYCTC was recognized as a Best Place to Work in Kentucky, which means our caring faculty and staff love coming to work each day to teach and serve you . . . our SKYCTC students!

Together, we will be healthy, build you a bright future, and move Kentucky forward. Hang in there! Finish writing your success story at SKYCTC. Contact your advisor for details on enrolling in the summer and fall terms.

If you are graduating, congratulations! I wish you great success in your career. Please take a moment to join our Alumni Association.
