SKYCTC STUDENT SPOTLIGHT - STEPHANIE ROMARATE

Each semester, the faculty of Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) vote on students whom they feel deserve to receive a spotlight for outstanding achievement both in and outside of the classroom.

Stephanie Romarate was selected to be the student the SKYCTC faculty would like to spotlight as Student of the Month!

Stephanie is a sophomore at SKYCTC, taking her general education classes in preparation to entering the LPN program at the college.

While currently employed full-time in a health care facility as a nurse aid, she is also enrolled full time at the college taking coursework toward her LPN license. Her daughter is also a student at SKYCTC, taking a Medical Information class.

“She works long hours and is still able to keep her goal in mind and achieve success in her coursework,” says her PSY 110 instructor Sharon Tucker. “She has a perfect score on graded work as well as participation in every discussion board, all the while often working 12-hour shifts in a nursing facility.”

Stephanie is an essential worker at the nursing facility, where she works in a dangerous environment. She is also a dedicated student who achieves excellent grades with a goal of becoming an LPN.

Because of her goals, work ethic, and academic achievement, she is not only our choice for student of the month but also a hero in a difficult job in a difficult time.
