SKYCTC recognizes the recipients of Student Organization Awards

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College’s (SKYCTC) Student Live and Engagement recognized clubs and organizations of the college with the first ever Annual Student Organizations Awards.

Awards presented were:

  • Pathfinder Award - This award is given to the organization which demonstrates excellence in the fulfillment of its purpose, membership and leadership development, campus life enhancement, community contributions and general involvement in the SKYCTC community. This year’s Pathfinder Award went to Phi Beta Lambda.

  • Community Impact Award - This award recognizes a student organization that contributed time, support, and resources on a local level to better the counties which SKYCTC services. This year’s Community Impact Award went to Phi Beta Lambda.

  • Student Organization Adviser of the Year - Student Organization advisors often go far beyond their assigned duties to advance the students they serve. This award was given to the advisor of a student organization who displays outstanding leadership, dedication and involvement with the organization they advise. This award is presented to the student organization advisor who has had a positive impact on their student organization and the SKYCTC community. The advisor is readily available to students and takes great strides to help the organization’s leadership. This year’s Advisor of the Year went to April Harris, an adviser for Phi Beta Lambda.

  • Unsung Hero Award - Members of student organizations give a great deal of themselves to the progress and success of their student organizations and invest in the campus culture and atmosphere because of their work. These members work hard to make this community a warm, friendly, exciting, and educational experience for students and we would like to recognize these efforts by awarding one member the Unsung Hero Award. This award will be given to a student organization member who often places his/her heart and soul into everything but often will go unnoticed for their valiant efforts. This student always goes above and beyond the standard to help his/her student organization, who displays outstanding leadership, dedication and involvement with their organization. This year’s Unsung Hero Award goes to Duncan Woosley, President of Christian Campus Ministry.

“To say we are proud is an understatement,” says PBL adviser Kim Otto. We congratulate our student members and April Harris, Adviser of the Year.”
