
Awards presented to SKYCTC faculty & staff members
Bowling Green, KY (May 11, 2021) – Dr. Phillip Neal, President, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, announced the 2020-21 faculty/staff award recipients at the annual Spring Enhancement session held virtually on May 11, 2021. Dr. Neal congratulated faculty and staff on their accomplishments and service to the College and recognized faculty who gained promotions this year.
Four award recipients were chosen from nominations by students, faculty and staff.
Soaring Beyond Expectations Award – Dr. Angie Harlan
In recognition of demonstrated achievements in her professional field and exceptional
contributions that resulted in a positive impact in the overall function of Southcentral
Kentucky Community and Technical College, Dr. Angie Harlan, Dean of Allied Health
and Nursing, was recognized with this award of achievement.
Outstanding Teamwork & Collaboration Nominations - Kalvin Minton and the Maintenance
Crew
In recognition of demonstrated exemplary work ethic, extraordinary impact, and positive
connections with student and colleagues at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical
College, Kalvin Minton, Director of Maintenance and Operations, and his Maintenance
staff were recognized with this award. Their work in making the SKYCTC campuses safe
and sanitized this past year during the pandemic led the way to providing a safe and
healthy environment for the students, faculty and staff of the College.
Outstanding Service to the Campus Community Division Award – Sonya Corder
In recognition of her outstanding division performance, contribution and willingness
to be a team player for the good of the division beyond the scope of her regular job
duties and responsibilities, Sonya Corder, Administrative Assistant in of the Allied
Health programs, was recognized as the 2020-21 Division Award recipient.
Outstanding Service to Students, Mentor Award– Michael Greer
In recognition of his exemplary and extraordinary impact on the lives of students
at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, Mr. Michael Greer, Associate
Professor in the Computer and Manufacturing and Machining program was recognized as
the award recipient. Nominations for this award were made by the students of the
College.
