Congratulations to Esther French, who received the Imadjinn Award for Best Screenplay Short Format for her script “Jake Was Here” at the 2022 Awards Banquet of the Imaginarium Convention Independent Film Festival in Louisville, KY.

The festival celebrates the craft of storytelling in all genres through films, documentaries, web series, music videos, and screenplays. Esther’s short script “Jake Was Here” tells the story of a pre-teen boy who grows up quickly when his family splinters. Her current project is a full-length script adapted from her novella entitled Off Her Rocker about a spunky 80-year-old who returns to her hometown after many years to face the challenges of past choices and new beginnings.

Esther is a full-time faculty librarian who co-advises SKY Writers, a student organization that encourages students to express their creativity through creative writing projects in all genres and formats.
