SKYCTC ANNOUNCES ALLIED HEALTH AWARD RECIPIENTS

Bowling Green, KY (April 10, 2019) –  Each year, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) recognizes students from each of the Allied Health programs of the College who have excelled in academic and clinical excellence as well as leadership.

This year, SKYCTC honored thirteen Allied Health students with awards presented at the annual Allied Health Award Ceremony held on April 10, 2019 on the College’s Main Campus.

Additionally, The SKYCTC Allied Health students chose three professional mentors from area healthcare facilities to receive an award for their contributions to the program.

Awards recipients in their respective categories were:

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

In recognition of achieving excellence by maintaining the highest program GPA -                 

  • Radiography - Allyson Sweet - Hart Co.
  • Respiratory - Whitney Defevers - Warren Co.
  • Surgical Technology - Courtney Estes - Barren Co.

CLINICAL EXCELLENCE

In recognition of achieving and maintaining the highest level of clinical proficiency -            

  • Radiography - Elmira Muradova - Warren Co.
  • Respiratory - Cheyene Simpson - Russell Co.  
  • Surgical Technology - Jonathon "JT" Howard - Warren Co.  

EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP

In recognition for demonstrating outstanding leadership skills and integrity consistently                 

exhibited toward fellow students -           

  • Radiography - Adisa Dervisevic - Warren Co. and Amanda Love - Warren Co.
  • Respiratory - Stephanie Wood - Grayson Co. 
  • Surgical Technology - Bethany Echols - Warren Co.

PROFESSIONAL MENTOR

The students of the SKYCTC Allied Health Programs selected three outstanding mentors at their clinical sites. This year’s professional mentor awards go to:

  • Radiography - Dustin Blair - TriStar Greenview 
  • Respiratory – In Memory of Pamela Flatt – Pamela Flatt worked at the Medical Center in Franklin and was also a former clinical instructor for SKYCTC. She passed away this year. 
  • Surgical Technology - Nikki Hammers - TriStar Greenview
