Bowling Green, KY (October 2, 2014) - On October 2, 2014, founding and current KCTCS President Dr. Michael B. McCall paid his final visit to Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC).

Dr. McCall will retire from KCTCS effective January 15, 2015, after 16 years of leading the system that he helped create. SKYCTC faculty and staff gathered to honor Dr. McCall for his vision, leadership and dedication to making SKYCTC a premier community and technical college.

The celebration included Dr. McCall being honored by the SKYCTC Board of Directors, SKYCTC Foundation Board, and concluded with the dedication of the pavilion on the Main Campus, which was named in his honor.

Under McCall s leadership KCTCS has flourished and become the place where higher education begins for many Kentuckians. Nearly half of Kentucky s postsecondary education students are enrolled at a KCTCS college.

Today, the 16 KCTCS colleges at more than 70 locations offer 700 programs in high wage, high demand fields, including 77 online credentials.

A reception followed the dedication and was catered by Dr. Riggs and the SKYCTC Culinary Arts students. During the reception, Dr. McCall was presented with a cookbook, designed by Amy Hurt and Kristie Lee, which compiled faculty and staff favorite recipes; and a video, which highlighted Dr. McCall s numerous accomplishments
