Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College’s (SKYCTC) Nursing Program class of 2016 achieved a 100 percent passing rate on the National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN). The national pass rate for all nursing programs sits at 86 percent, placing SKYCTC at the top of their jurisdiction and the country.

The National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN) is designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities essential for the safe and effective practice of nursing at an entry level, according to the National Council State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). Passage of the NCLEX-RN moves a student nurse to a professional nurse and ensures the public that the newly licensed nurse has enough knowledge and is ready to begin practice at an entry level.

“We are so very proud of SKYCTC’s nursing students and faculty for their hard work and dedication to achieve a 100 percent passing rate in a field that is in high demand,” said Dr. Jimmy Isenberg, Dean of Allied Health and Nursing at the College. “In addition to our nursing program, in the past two years, all of our Allied Health programs (Surgical Technology, Radiography, and Respiratory Care) have all had pass rates well above the national and state averages, making SKYCTC a very attractive and affordable choice for an education in the health industry.”
