The Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College s Franklin Simpson Center is collaborating with the Kentucky Career Center to train candidates in the Certified Production Technician certification, according to a news release from the Barren River Area Development District.
The training program is conducted by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council, an industry-led, training, assessment and certification system, according to the news release.
Classes will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday between Feb. 23 and March 20. Each Friday, participants will review coursework in the morning and be assessed in the afternoon.
Assessments will each have 80 to 90 multiple choice questions and must be completed in 90 minutes. All four assessments must be passed to receive the full certification.
The four-week course will cover four standards of manufacturing production: safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production and maintenance awareness.
