SKYCTC Scholars Named to KCTCS All-Academic Team

Bowling Green, KY (March 27, 2018) – Each year, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) recognizes two students from each of the 16 colleges in the System as All-Academic Team members.

Selected as Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College’s (SKYCTC) 2018 All-Academic Team members were Mollie Harlan and Loai Aldarawish.

Mollie Harlan is a full-time student at SKYCTC.  She is presently working toward an Associate in Science degree with plans to apply for the Registered Nursing program at SKYCTC in September of 2018. Harlan currently serves as a Student Ambassador at the College. “I really enjoy getting to know our incoming students and helping to guide them through their first semester,” says Harlan.  “I am honored to receive this scholarship award that will help me in completing my goals.”

Loai Aldarawish will be graduating this May with two Associate in Applied Science Degrees -  one in Industrial Maintenance and the other in Engineering and Electronics Technology: Robotics and Automation Specialization. “If I get a chance, I hope I go back to school to earn a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and maybe even a master's degree,” says Aldarawish.

Students from each of the 16 KCTCS colleges are chosen for the All-Academic Team based on a rigorous selection process that focuses on academic performance and campus involvement. Each member of the All-Academic Team will earn a $500 scholarship from their college, as well as scholarship opportunities to continue their education from 28 Kentucky public and private universities. Together, the scholarships are valued at more than $500,000.

The 2018 KCTCS All-Academic Team Scholars are part of a national program sponsored by the National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, USA Today and the American Association of Community Colleges.
