Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) is again named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky. The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management announced Tuesday the winners of the 11th annual Best Places to Work in Kentucky awards. Companies were divided into small, medium and large 15 to 149 employees, 150 to 499 employees and 500 employees or more, respectively, according to a news release from the state chamber.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Kentucky, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. This is the fourth straight year that SKYCTC has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky.

At SKYCTC, we believe in a Culture of Caring and have many talented employees who are committed to education and serving others, states Dr. Phillip Neal, President of SKYCTC. We know the importance of the work we do and how we have the opportunity and responsibility to educate our students and prepare our workforce. We plan to celebrate this terrific recognition by recognizing our employees throughout the year. It truly goes back to the Culture of Caring. Our future success is reliant upon us investing in the best faculty and staff available. They are professionals committed to providing a world-class education here in South Central Kentucky. We do this by setting high standards for ourselves and our students. We reinforce outstanding commitment and performance by celebrating the journey as well as the destination. We are a bridge to certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees for students entering the workforce or wanting to transfer to WKU and many other universities in Kentucky . . . we are a bridge to a more highly skilled workforce. One of the biggest rewards our employees receive is seeing the smiles on our student s face as we provide them the answers they need or seeing the light bulb turn on when they learn something new, relevant, and valuable to their future. This truly is a great place to work because of the great people we have in the SKYCTC family.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Kentucky. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Kentucky and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College will be recognized and honored at an awards dinner in April at Heritage Hall in the Lexington Convention Center at which time the rankings will be announced.
