SKYCTC student elected to KCTCS Board of Regents

Versailles, Ky. – Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Student Government Association (SGA) presidents recently elected two of their fellow presidents to represent students on the KCTCS Board of Regents. They selected two adult students from the western part of the state.

Jonathan McDermott lives in Bowling Green with his wife of six years. He is studying computer and information technology at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC). After earning his Associate of Applied Science degree, Jonathan will pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a desire to work with emerging technologies in the software engineering field. Jonathan currently serves as president of the Student Government Association. He also works as a student ambassador, aiding first semester freshmen during their transition into higher education. He is a team leader within the Student Ambassador program and enjoys working with students from all walks of life. 

Jacqueline Teehan, from Henderson Community College (HCC), is stay-at-home mom of five boys. She lives in Sturgis with her husband of 20 years and their dog. She’s an active member in Phi Theta Kappa and has been on the Dean’s List consecutively over the last two years. She will graduate in December with an associate in arts in business administration and will have completed 80 hours at HCC in the spring. She plans to transfer to the University of Southern Illinois to complete a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is a work-study student in HCC’s business office and a college representative in the Student Leadership Academy. 

Teehan and McDermott will serve one-year terms on the KCTCS Board of Regents. Their terms begin immediately.
