Radiography mission statement

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College’s Radiography program will provide the healthcare community with competent entry level radiographers that provide compassion and respectful care to everyone.

Program Goals

Student Learning Outcomes:

1.1 – Students (graduates) will provide appropriate patient care.
1.2 – Students (graduates) will demonstrate accurate positioning skills.
1.3 – Students (graduates) will select appropriate technical factors.
1.4 – Students (graduates) will practice radiation protection.

Program Outcomes

This is the number of students that pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination on the first attempt within six months of graduation from the program. The figure reflects an average over a five-year span.

Five-year average credentialing examination (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography exam) pass rate of not less than 75% at first attempt within six months of graduation.

Job Placement Rate is based on employment from 1 year of graduation from radiography program. Job placement rate is defined as the number of graduates employed in the radiologic sciences compared to the number of graduates actively seeking employment in the radiologic sciences. The JRCERT has defined not actively seeking employment as:

  1. Graduate fails to communicate with program officials regarding employment status after multiple attempts, 
  2. Graduate is unwilling to seek employment that requires relocation,
  3. Graduate is unwilling to accept employment due to salary or hours,
  4. Graduate is on active military duty, and/or
  5. Graduate is continuing education.
