Kayla Cowles - October Phi Beta Lambda Member Spotlight
October’s PBL Member Spotlight features Kayla Cowles, our chapter secretary. Kayla is originally from Bowling Green, KY.
When asked why she joined Phi Beta Lambda, Kayla explains, “You have the opportunity to travel as a group to different competitions across the United States. Also, you learn new things and make new friends.”
What does Kayla like most about Phi Beta Lambda? “What I have enjoyed most is just getting to meet people virtually and attending our chapter meetings,” she says.
Why does Kayla recommend Phi Beta Lambda? “I would recommend PBL to other students simply because I love it, and it is a way to get out and about in the community as well as making new friends.”
Kayla chose SKYCTC because it was the best choice economically. “What brought me to SKYCTC was the financial aspect of college. I had originally grown up wanting to attend WKU but instead researched and found that SKYCTC was cheaper.”
Kayla will be seeking an Associate in Arts degree and her planned graduation date will be around May 2022. After graduation, Kayla wants to become a kindergarten teacher’s aide.
Kayla describes her family as “all kinds of things like crazy, wacky, and much more.” She said they have been supportive when it comes to certain things in life, like attending college. Kayla has two younger sisters.
In her spare time, Kayla enjoys texting, spending time with friends and family, playing with her one and only favorite niece, and singing. Kayla made All-State Choir twice, and she loves singing karaoke. Kayla is extremely outgoing and can get along with just about anyone. She listens to almost any type of music, and her favorite color is red.
