November’s PBL Member Spotlight features William Patrick.  William was born four miles outside of Glasgow and, at the age of 12, moved to Hart County.

When asked why he joined Phi Beta Lambda, William explains, “I have worked as a manager, in retail, and in other employment opportunities. I wanted to build on the experience and learn more about the owning/planning side of a business.”

What does William like most about Phi Beta Lambda?  “I have enjoyed learning about business, but I have also developed a friendship with the PBL President (Richard) which I have enjoyed,” he says.

Why does William recommend Phi Beta Lambda?  “The opportunity to learn about building and running a business, while also learning about different career paths from people who have firsthand knowledge, is a major advantage over a “textbook-only path.”

William chose SKYCTC because of its affordability.  “I was recommended to SKYCTC by a friend I worked with as an alternative to spending four years at WKU and racking up student loans,” he says.

William is pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in accounting.  He plans to graduate from SKYCTC in 2023 and then move on to a four-year university to earn his bachelor’s degree.

As far as his career path, William explains, “I plan to run/own my own accounting/tax office.”

William loves spending time with his family because they have always been very close.  He has two brothers and one sister, and William is the youngest of the four.  His dad passed away in October, and his mother also lives in Hart County.

William likes hunting and fishing when he has the time, but he really enjoys driving and listening to music.  He has also started taking care of his dad’s dog.
