SKYCTC Alumni Spotlight: Jackson Otto
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) proudly highlights Jackson Otto, a 2021 graduate, who earned both a General Business certificate and an Associate in Arts degree. Jackson is now the successful owner of Clear Window Solutions, a professional window cleaning company that serves residential and commercial clients. He credits his achievements as a business owner to the education and support he received during his time at SKYCTC.
Jackson chose SKYCTC for many reasons, including his familiarity with the campus and staff. His mother, Kim Otto, is a professor in the Business and Technology division of the college. He appreciated the integrity, camaraderie, and knowledge of all the faculty at SKYCTC.
In reflecting on his time as a student, Jackson encourages current students to live in the moment. “It only lasts a short amount of time, so study hard, get good grades, and have the most fun you can possibly have,” he advises.
He also emphasizes how instrumental his coursework at SKYCTC was in his entrepreneurial journey. “The courses I took at SKYCTC definitely helped me get to where I am today. Without them, I wouldn’t have known the necessary verbiage needed to invest in myself and my company. That knowledge gave me the foundation to start and grow my business.”
Additionally, Jackson offers this advice to students considering a similar path: “Find a good mentor before diving headfirst into your college courses. A mentor can provide guidance, advice, and help when needed. They can teach you about becoming an entrepreneur before you take the risk.”
Jackson’s journey from student to business owner serves as an inspiration to current SKYCTC students, demonstrating how a solid educational foundation can lead to both personal and professional success.
