Division of Arts and Humanities spread Culture of Caring
The Division of Arts and Humanities, in conjunction with the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Committee, has undertaken a new student support project that began this summer. Thanks to generous donations from faculty and staff, the Division has collected more than 500 hygiene products to be placed in student restrooms on all six of SKYCTC's campuses. These "Culture of Caring" hygiene baskets include a variety of self-care items to help students who may need access to basic needs products to look and feel their best. Each basket has a friendly reminder on it that everyone needs help sometimes, and at SKYCTC, everyone is cared for!
All campuses will have baskets placed before classes begin next week. The baskets will be restocked and maintained throughout the year by faculty and staff in the division and who serve on the QEP Committee as well as a student worker.
The goal of the project is to provide assistance to students who need help procuring these items because of financial difficulty and to convey the spirit of the Culture of Caring that makes SKYCTC such a special place to learn and work!
Donations on Main Campus are accepted in Megan Saling's Office, Building F-17, and Taylor Herald's Office, L-119B in the Learning Commons. All donations received at Main are processed and routed to the other campuses to meet needs; however, donations at Glasgow Health may be delivered to Shellena Smith in B-206A and at Franklin-Simpson to Matthew Kirby in Office 251.
