Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College to Host Free FAFSA Tailgate Parties
Bowling Green, Ky. – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) is excited to announce three free FAFSA Tailgate Parties to assist anyone planning to attend a post-secondary college or university with their FAFSA applications. The events will take place at the college’s Main Campus at 1845 Loop Drive in Bowling Green, KY, on August 1, 6, and 7. A separate event will take place at the Glasgow Health Campus, 129 State Ave in Glasgow KY on August 6 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Alongside FAFSA assistance, the events will feature food, games, and great prizes.

*Attendees are asked to bring their 2022 tax forms with w-2’s and FSA ID if they have one.
The FAFSA Simplification Act represents a major redesign of the processes and systems used to award federal student aid starting with the 2024–25 award year. The Act was passed to make it easier for students and families to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) and to expand access to federal student aid. However, due to significant changes, the FAFSA opening date for the 2024-2025 award year was delayed, which has subsequently delayed the processing of financial aid.
Many students and parents have encountered issues with filing the 2024-2025 FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov. In some cases, these challenges are preventing applications from being submitted altogether. Federal Student Aid (FSA) is continuously working on the application to resolve errors in the online form. If you are experiencing problems in completing the FAFSA, please be persistent.
We are here to assist you! If you have not yet filed the FAFSA, now is the time to do so to maximize your eligibility for all available aid, especially state funds. Whether you have never filled out a FAFSA form, are halfway through but haven’t completed the form, or are on the goal line and just need a little help to finish, we would like to assist you.
Once your FAFSA is fully processed, Federal Student Aid will notify you that your information has been forwarded to all schools listed on your FAFSA. SKYCTC will then notify you once we receive your FAFSA information and inform you if any additional information is needed.
An estimated offer letter will be sent to you outlining the financial aid you can potentially expect to receive.
