Professional staff assist families with their federal online financial aid application, simplifying a process that has been especially challenging this year.

BOWLING GREEN, KY. — MAY 21, 2024 — Recognizing that college-bound students and their families across the U.S. are facing barriers to completing the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) at Southcentral Kentucky Community College (SKYCTC) is offering hands-on financial aid workshops to current and prospective students as well as to anyone who would need help filling out the FAFSA.

EOC, together with faculty and professional staff from across the College, have provided one-on-one support to students and their families for the past two years. In addition to these intensified efforts, five FAFSA Completion Workshops will be available this summer.

The financial aid simplification workshops are open to any students who have applied to SKYCTC for the fall, might be considering applying to SKYCTC, or who are members of the greater community considering attending any post-secondary institution this fall. The SKY Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) is hosting FAFSA Workshops twice per month.

Interested applicants can walk in or sign up for one of the workshops below:

All workshops will be held on the main campus of Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College in building J, room 144A and room 102.

Attendees are asked to bring their 2022 tax forms with w-2’s and FSA ID if they have one.

The Educational Opportunity Center is a federally funded TRIO program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. All services are free.
