January’s FBLA Collegiate Member Spotlight features President-Elect Luke Penrose. Luke is originally from Tacoma, Washington but moved to Bowling Green to be closer to his extended family.

When asked why he joined FBLA Collegiate, Luke explains, “I was a member in throughout high school and was excited to hear it was offered at the college level.”

What has Luke enjoyed the most about FBLA Collegiate? “I enjoyed participating in Toys for Tots and collaborating with like-minded students,” he says.

Why does Luke recommend FBLA Collegiate? He explains, “I would recommend FBLA Collegiate to other students because it helps you grow as a leader and sharpen those skills that employers seek. FBLA Collegiate has really helped me grow as an individual through community service work and connecting with other students at the college”

What brought Luke to SKYCTC? “I was already attending dual credit classes through SKYCTC, and the environment at SKYCTC is very welcoming,” he says.

Luke will graduate in May 2026 with an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration (Management track) degree. After graduation, Luke plans to become an airline pilot as well as own other businesses.

Family is extremely important to Luke. “My family is extremely outgoing and adventurous. They are also open minded and humorous which has shaped me into who I am today,” he says.

Luke enjoys working out, working on classic vehicles, and flying airplanes. He has two pets: a cat named Rosie, and a “very spoiled” Great Dane named Ellie.

A fun fact about Luke is that he does not like the beach. Congratulations, Luke!
