Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Celebrates Success of Allied Health "Going Pro" Signing Day

Bowling Green, Ky. – April 26, 2024 – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) proudly recognizes the achievements of its Allied Health students and graduates who are embarking on their professional journeys in the vital field of healthcare.

At the SKYCTC Allied Health “Going Pro” signing ceremony, which took place on Friday, April 26, 2024, more than 25 dedicated Allied Health students pledged their commitment to serve their communities by signing agreements to work with esteemed local hospitals and healthcare facilities. These agreements span a range of specialties, including Radiography, Surgical Technology, Medical Laboratory, and Respiratory Care Technology.

As the economy of South Central Kentucky continues to thrive, more students and businesses are turning to SKYCTC for top-tier training and upskilling opportunities to cultivate the workforce leaders of tomorrow. Over 80% of all SKYCTC associate degree earners, and 82.9% of associate degree earners in the healthcare majors are employed in Kentucky three years after graduation.*

Dr. Phillip Neal, President of SKYCTC, underscored the abundance of job opportunities in the region and the critical importance of equipping individuals with the tools and skills needed to excel in today's workforce. "The success of the 'Going Pro' Signing Day underscores the pivotal role that community colleges continue to play in meeting workforce demand," said Dr. Neal. 

Industry leaders have been instrumental in fostering partnerships and developing proactive training programs throughout SKYCTC's network. Notable partners such as The Medical Center Health, Graves Gilbert Clinic, TJ Regional Health, Norton Health Care, and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital joined SKYCTC in honoring the students who officially commenced their professional journeys by signing certificates of employment on Friday.
