Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College to Host Student Life Showcases

Bowling Green, KY – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) will host a series of Student Life Showcases across multiple campuses from January 22 - 30, 2025, designed to provide students with an opportunity to learn about the college's clubs and organizations.

The first showcase will take place at the College's Main Campus located at 1845 Loop Drive, Bowling Green, KY, on January 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Representatives from all college clubs and organizations will be available to provide information about their club. Attendees can also enjoy giveaways and student activities during the event.

At this year's showcase, students will receive a passport to be stamped at each club/organization table they visit. Students who complete the passport can turn it in for a free lunch at the Café (valid only on January 22, 2025).

Participating clubs and organizations include:

  • Art Club
  • Biodiversity Club
  • Building Men of Worth
  • Christian Campus Ministry
  • Diversity through Dining
  • Future Business Leaders of America
  • Game Club
  • Gamma Beta Phi
  • LGBTQ+ Student Organization
  • Phi Theta Kappa
  • Student Government Association
  • SKY Writers

The goal of the showcases is to raise awareness of the diverse opportunities available for student involvement at SKYCTC. Dr. David Travis, Acting Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, emphasizes that students who participate in clubs and organizations tend to have higher retention rates. Travis also notes that SKYCTC will offer additional opportunities for student group involvement throughout the year, and students interested in creating a new group are encouraged to contact him.

In addition to the main campus event, several "Mini Student Life Showcases" will be held at the following locations:

  • Franklin-Simpson Center: Monday, January 27, 2025, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (1st Floor Lobby)
  • KATI Campus: Tuesday, January 28, 2025, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Side of the Welcome Desk)
  • Glasgow Health Campus: Tuesday, January 28, 2025, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Building D Hallway)
  • Transpark Center: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Back Entry Table)
