Trel Thompson: SKYCTC’s November 2024 FBLA Collegiate Member Spotlight

November’s FBLA Collegiate Member Spotlight features Trel Thompson. Trel is from Crystal Springs, MS, which is known for its southern hospitality and pride.

When asked why he joined FBLA Collegiate, Trel explains, “I joined FBLA Collegiate to be more engaged in campus activities. As a result, I have had a successful first semester.” 

What has Trel enjoyed the most about FBLA Collegiate? “I have enjoyed being able to connect with the community and network through campus engagement,” he says.

Why does Trel recommend FBLA Collegiate? He explains, “I would recommend joining FBLA because on top of having two great advisors, it's a great way to build necessary skills for your career.”

What brought Trel to SKYCTC? “I came to SKYCTC because it is only a few minutes away from my house. I started school before and did not finish, and I believe God placed me where I was to get it right this time,” he says.

Trel will graduate in May 2026 with an Associate of Applied Science in Engineering & Electronics Technology (Robotics & Automation track). After graduation, Trel will attend WKU to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology Management and hopes to advance within his current company.

Family is extremely important to Trel. “My oldest brother, Ja’cynto Walker, is a clinical scientist currently obtaining his master's degree. My younger brother, Michael Thompson, is an electrical engineer and is pursuing his real estate license. My loving mom and dad are the backbone of my family,” he says.

Trel enjoys a wide variety of hobbies. He explains, “In my free time I enjoy playing cards such as spades or any board games.”

A fun fact about Trel is that he is an entrepreneur. Congratulations, Trel!
