
Search for president narrows to 3 finalists for Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College
Following a national search, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System has announced three finalists for the position of president for Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College.
The finalists include:
- Ted A. Lewis, Ed.D., president and chief administrative officer at Bluefield State University-Beckley, West Virginia.
- Mike D. Rodgers, Ed.D., president of Wilkesboro Community College, Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
- Michelle Trawick, Ph.D., distinguished professor of economics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
“We are pleased to welcome three highly accomplished finalists to Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College as we move forward in selecting the next president,” said KCTCS President Ryan Quarles. “The selected president will play a critical role in shaping the future of the college and expanding opportunities for students across the region."
Public forums will be held for the candidates. For Lewis and Trawick, the forum will be held May 28, 5-6:30 p.m. CST, SKYCTC Main Campus, Building L, Media Center and Learning Commons. For Rodgers, the forum will be held May 29 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. CST, SKYCTC Main Campus, Building L, 2nd floor lobby,
Candidate backgrounds:
Lewis previously served as the provost and vice president of academic and student affairs at Bluefield State University and earlier as vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer at Pellissippi State Community College in east Tennessee. He holds a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rodgers' prior experience includes serving at Owensboro Community and Technical College as chief institutional officer and the executive director of the foundation. He held several other positions at the college, including interim vice president of academic affairs. Rodgers earned a doctorate in higher education leadership from Maryville University, St. Louis.
Trawick previously served as the John Becker Dean, professor of economics, College of Business, at the University of Omaha, following 20 years in a variety of positions at Western Kentucky University, including associate provost for faculty and academic excellence. A Logan County native, she earned a doctorate in economics and statistics from North Carolina University.
