BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Kay Coomes, Manger Public Affairs, Don Bonner, Operations Supervisor in BG and Mike Close Operations Manager in BG of Atmos Energy presented a $50,000 check to the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) Foundation to establish a new endowed scholarship supporting students entering energy-related fields.

The scholarship is designed to encourage growth in programs that directly support the energy industry, with a special emphasis on welding, electrical, and HVAC. Funds may be used toward tuition, books, or other instructional materials required for students to successfully complete a SKYCTC-approved program of study.

“We are profoundly grateful to Atmos Energy for establishing this $50,000 scholarship endowment,” said Heather Rogers, Vice President, Resource Development & Executive Director, SKYCTC Foundation. “Their generosity will provide lasting support for students in our technical programs, helping them access high-quality education and workforce training. This endowment represents a long-term investment in the success of our students and the future of our region.”

This contribution qualifies for matching funds through the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS) Endowment Match Program. Once fully matched, the total endowment will grow to $100,000, doubling the long-term impact of Atmos Energy’s investment.
