BOWLING GREEN, KY — The Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) welcomed six new members during its spring induction ceremony held on April 28, 2025.

The newly inducted members are Narmin Aliyeva, Jose Cabrera, Robbie Collins, Melissa Downing, Olivia Haley, and Sallie Harris. These students have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and a strong commitment to community service.

Gamma Beta Phi is a national honor and service society that recognizes excellence in scholarship, promotes leadership, and encourages participation in community service. Founded in 1964, the Society has inducted more than 100,000 members from colleges and universities across the United States. Unlike many honor societies, Gamma Beta Phi is open to students of all academic disciplines who meet the academic and service requirements.

At SKYCTC, the chapter is led by President Emily Strode, Vice President Karlee Harper, Secretary Kimber Doyle, Treasurer LaToya White, Historian Noah Majors, and Student Government Association (SGA) Representative Brittany Lemons.

To qualify for membership, students must be enrolled at SKYCTC, have completed at least 12 semester hours of college-level coursework, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5. Members must also uphold a GPA of at least 3.2 to remain in good standing. In addition to academic achievement, members are expected to demonstrate strong moral character and contribute to local service initiatives. A one-time national membership fee of $70 and a local chapter fee of $12 per semester are required.

Gamma Beta Phi members strive to embody the organization’s core principles of honesty, service, industriousness, humility, justice, cooperation, responsibility, and charitableness. The SKYCTC chapter continues to play a vital role in promoting student success and serving the broader community.
