SKYCTC to Host Second Annual Giving Day on April 16

Bowling Green, KY – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) will host its second annual Giving Day on April 16 as part of Community College Month, rallying support from alumni, local businesses, and the wider community to help students succeed.
The 2025 Giving Day will raise funds for a variety of initiatives, including the Student Success Fund, Food Pantry, emergency financial assistance, and student scholarships. These efforts aim to remove barriers that can hinder students’ academic and career progress.
“SKYCTC Giving Day is a chance for the community and our college family to come together to provide support to those who need a little extra help,” said Heather Rogers, Executive Director of the SKYCTC Foundation. “We look forward to seeing what can be accomplished collectively.”
The college is encouraging contributions from the "SKY family"—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and board members—as well as business and industry partners, and community members. Supporters can make a direct impact on the future of local students, who in turn will help strengthen their communities post-graduation.
To boost participation, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Foundation will offer matching gifts of up to $4,000 for colleges leading in giving. Service One Credit Union will provide a challenge gift of $15,000 when 50 donors contribute to SKYCTC on Giving Day. Additional challenge gifts will also be offered.
“We are so pleased with the level of interest and engagement we’ve already seen with this year’s Giving Day,” Rogers said. “Thanks to generous donors, last year we raised more than $24,000 from 81 donors and achieved 100% participation from our board of directors. We look forward to having even more participation this year.”
