Bowling Green, KY (April 7, 2025) – Each year, the Kentucky Business Society (KBS) awards three scholarships to outstanding
business students attending Kentucky colleges. These include one $750 scholarship,
one $500 scholarship, and one $250 scholarship based on academic performance, an application
essay, and supporting documents such as transcripts and a faculty recommendation letter.
This year, Melissa Kronemeyer, a business student at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC), was awarded the $250 scholarship for "Best Personal Letter."
Kronemeyer, a non-traditional student working full-time is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Human Resource Management. She expressed gratitude for the scholarship, emphasizing its significance in her educational and professional journey.
“Winning the scholarship allows me to share my experience with my adult children and grandchildren. You’re never too old to learn and try new things,” said Kronemeyer.
She plans to use her degree in her current role as HR Coordinator with her employer.
SKYCTC Associate Professor April Harris, who also serves as a Director of KBS, commended Kronemeyer’s dedication:
“I am so proud of Melissa for applying for and winning the Kentucky Business Society Scholarship. She is a phenomenal student—hardworking and determined both in and outside the classroom.”
Harris also highlighted the benefits of KBS membership for business educators.
“For me, the Kentucky Business Society has been a way to meet and learn from so many wonderful business educators in the state. I’ve incorporated ideas into my courses that I would never have considered without this network. I encourage all Kentucky business educators to consider joining KBS.”
The Kentucky Business Society is a professional organization dedicated to connecting business educators with industry leaders to enhance business curricula across Kentucky. In addition to fostering these connections, KBS recognizes outstanding business students each year through its scholarship program.
