SKYCTC Nursing Program Ranked #1 in Kentucky by RegisteredNursing.org

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) is proud to announce that its registered nursing program has been recognized as one of the best in the Commonwealth by RegisteredNursing.org. The RN program secured the #1 ranking in Kentucky. SKYCTC offers the registered nursing program at both its Glasgow and Bowling Green campuses.
SKYCTC’s nursing program has consistently demonstrated excellence, achieving a 100% NCLEX* pass rate across multiple years. This success reflects the program’s rigorous standards, comprehensive curriculum, and strong student support.
SKYCTC offers multiple nursing pathways, including:
- Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing
- Practical Nursing Diploma
- Medicaid Nurse Aide Certification
Students gain extensive hands-on experience through clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities, state-of-the-art labs, and benefit from affordable tuition options such as the Work Ready KY Scholarship.
“SKYCTC’s nursing program is one of a kind,” said Hollie Sims, a current registered nursing student at SKYCTC in the final semester of the program. “The program is more than just an education. It provides a journey of hands-on experience, where every challenge shapes you into a caregiver, a leader, and a healer. SKYCTC has prepared me to feel confident in my nursing career.”
Local hospitals including T.J. Regional Health, Med Center Health, and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital continue to benefit from SKYCTC graduates, who are widely recognized for their expertise and readiness to serve.
RegisteredNursing.org compiles annual rankings based solely on NCLEX pass rates, offering a trusted resource for prospective nursing students evaluating programs. SKYCTC’s top rankings underscore its role as a leader in nursing education and a vital contributor to Kentucky’s healthcare workforce.
*The NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) is a standardized national exam required for nursing graduates to become licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNS) / Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). Administered by Pearson VUE for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), the NCLEX-RN uses a computerized adaptive testing (CAT) format, meaning the difficulty of questions adjusts based on your performance. The exam assesses a candidate's nursing knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities to ensure they can provide safe and competent patient care.
