BOWLING GREEN, KY. – As part of the Stuff the Bus campaign and in support of Warren Elementary School, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) faculty and staff donated school supplies during the College’s annual convocation, continuing the mission of SKYCTC’s Culture of Caring initiative.

Since 2005, Stuff the Bus has worked to provide a level playing field for all children in Southern Kentucky by ensuring that every student walks into school on the first day equipped with the essential tools needed to connect with teachers and classmates. Every item collected through the campaign stays local, benefiting children, teachers, and classrooms in the community.

This year, SKYCTC faculty and staff collected more than 60 boxes filled with paper, pencils, backpacks, and a variety of other school supplies, which were delivered directly to Warren Elementary on August 12.

“Our faculty and staff have such big hearts,” said Heather Rogers, Vice President of Resource Development. “Their generosity in donating school supplies to Warren Elementary reflects their deep commitment to investing in the education and success of our community’s children.”

"The generosity of SKYCTC has a direct and immediate impact on our students," said Megan Skaggs, Family Resource Center Coordinator at Warren Elementary School. "These supplies help ensure that every child starts the school year prepared and confident."

Delivering the donations were SKYCTC security representatives Daniel Harris and Halid Muratovic, the latter of whom was once a student at Warren Elementary.

By supporting Stuff the Bus, SKYCTC continues to foster its Culture of Caring, strengthening the connection between the College and the communities it serves.
