
Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship Application Deadline Set for December 1, 2025
Frankfort, Ky. — Students interested in receiving the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship (WRKS) for the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 semester are encouraged to complete their application before the December 1, 2025, deadline.
The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship provides tuition-free opportunities for Kentuckians to complete short-term, high-demand career training programs. Some students can be job-ready in four months or less.
Eligibility Requirements
The scholarship is available to Kentucky residents who have a high school diploma or are working toward their GED, and who do not already have an associate degree or higher. The scholarship is not based on income or GPA, and no essay is required.
Most of the programs at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) are currently eligible under the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship.

Program Enrollment and Changes
Students must be enrolled in an eligible program to receive the scholarship. Those who wish to change programs must verify that the new program is also WRKS-eligible. Students are encouraged to consult their Financial Aid advisor for assistance with program eligibility or enrollment adjustments.
