SKYCTC invites public to fourth annual free Cybersafe Summit
Stay Safe Online - Be Proactive Not Reactive
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – As October marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) will host its fourth annual CyberSafe Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., bringing together cybersecurity professionals, educators, students, and community members to learn practical ways to stay safer online.
The free event is open to the public and will be offered both online and in person at the Robert and Mary Tincher Campus and Community Center, located on SKYCTC’s Main Campus at 1845 Loop Drive in Bowling Green.
The CyberSafe Summit will provide practical information and resources to help individuals and businesses protect themselves from cyber threats. As cyber attacks and online scams continue to evolve, the summit will focus on proactive steps participants can take to protect sensitive information, recognize potential threats and stay safer online.
Featured presenters include Detective Sergeant Evan Cook, Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Dr. Michael Ramage, Director of the Murray State Cyber Education and Research Center.
Cook supervises the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, including felony case follow-ups, the assigned Drug Task Force detective, the Crime Scene Processing Team and evidence collection. He has served with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for more than 12 years, including more than five years as a detective.
Ramage leads the Murray State Cyber Education and Research Center, which focuses on cybersecurity and networking education, outreach, development and research.
