SKYCTC HOSA Students win top honors at State Leadership Conference

Louisville, Ky. – Practical Nursing students from Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) earned top recognition at the Kentucky State HOSA Leadership Conference, held March 19–20, 2026, in Louisville.
HOSA–Future Health Professionals is a global student-led organization dedicated to empowering future healthcare leaders through education, collaboration and experience. The organization’s mission is to promote career opportunities in healthcare and enhance the delivery of quality care to all people.
SKYCTC students demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skill across multiple competitive events, bringing home several first-place finishes and showcasing the strength of the college’s nursing programs.
The following students placed in their respective categories:
- Brilee Clark – 1st Place, Medical Spelling
- Lindsay Mitchell – 1st Place, Medical Math
- Chloe Shaw – 1st Place, Behavioral Health
- Kaylee Stinson – 1st Place, Medical Terminology
- Callie Turner – 1st Place, Pharmacology
“These outstanding results reflect the hard work, dedication and academic excellence of our students, as well as the commitment of our faculty to preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals,” said a SKYCTC representative. “We are incredibly proud of how our students represented the college at the state level.”
Participation in HOSA competitions allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios while building leadership, teamwork and professional skills essential for success in healthcare careers. Many of the first-place winners will have the opportunity to advance to national-level competition, where they will compete against top students from across the country.
