Pinnacle Financial Partners presents SKYCTC nursing student with refurbished vehicle through NABC Recycled Rides® program
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Aug. 6, 2026 – Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) nursing student Camryn Holder received more than a refurbished vehicle Thursday — she received a new measure of independence and reliability to help her continue her education and pursue her career in nursing.
Holder was presented with a refurbished 2019 Kia Sportage LX during a ceremony at Pinnacle Financial Partners’ flagship office in Bowling Green. The vehicle was donated by Allstate and refurbished by technicians at Gerber Collision & Glass through the National Auto Body Council® (NABC) Recycled Rides® program. Enterprise and other community partners also contributed to the effort.

Warren County Judge/Executive Doug Gorman attended the ceremony and offered remarks recognizing the collaboration between Pinnacle Financial Partners and community partners. He also presented a proclamation honoring the occasion.
Holder was nominated for the NABC Recycled Rides® program by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).
A first-generation college student, Holder is enrolled full-time in SKYCTC’s Registered Nursing program while also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the University of Louisville’s LPN-to-BSN program. She works full-time as a licensed practical nurse on a neuro/medical-surgical unit, gaining valuable clinical experience while maintaining passing grades in both programs.
Her commitment to education and financial responsibility has required significant personal sacrifice. Holder pays her own expenses and has taken out minimal student loans because she understands the long-term financial burden of student debt. With her family focused on supporting her younger siblings, she has largely financed her education independently.
Reliable transportation, however, had become a significant barrier to her success.
Holder commutes daily to classes and travels to clinical sites that can be as far as 70 miles away. Her previous vehicle was highly unreliable, frequently failing to start in warm weather, leaking during rain and experiencing an exhaust problem that allowed fumes into the passenger cabin. The vehicle’s condition created safety concerns and threatened her ability to meet the strict attendance, punctuality and reliability requirements of nursing school and clinical practice.
The new vehicle provides Holder with dependable transportation to work, classes and clinical rotations while removing a significant obstacle from her path toward becoming a registered nurse and earning her bachelor's degree.
“This vehicle means reliable transportation for me,” said Holder. “It means getting to and from work safely, as well as getting to school without any issues.”
Holder’s academic journey reflects the determination that led to her nomination. She graduated from high school with two associate degrees after overcoming financial challenges and changes in her living situation during middle school. Today, she is building on that foundation through nursing education and professional experience.
The refurbished vehicle will help Holder continue that journey while preparing her to make a difference in the lives of future patients and give back to her community.
