SKYCTC Honored with National Awards at Student Success Conference in New York City

Topw wemon holding plaqueSouthcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) earned national recognition at the 50th Annual Conference of the National Organization for Student Success (NOSS), held February 22–26 in New York City.

Dr. Stephanie Tolliver Hyman, pictured with outgoing NOSS President Glynis Mullins, received the prestigious Hunter R. Boylan Award for Outstanding Research and accepted the Program of Promise Award on behalf of the college for AIM SKYward Reception, a targeted onboarding initiative supporting students placed into corequisite English.

The AIM SKYward program provides intentional, research-based support to help students build confidence and succeed in gateway writing courses. Representing SKYCTC at the awards ceremony were (pictured left to right): Dr. John Thomerson, Resource and Retention Coordinator, Ashley Garrett, English Instructor, Heather LaRue, Resource and Retention Coordinator, Dr. Stephanie Tolliver Hyman, Dean of Arts and Humanities, Kathryne LeFevre, Director of Academic Services, Jackie Purdue, Tutor Coordinator, Leslie Nichols, Associate Professor of First-Year Experience, and Nann Harwood, English Instructor. Each played a vital role in facilitating AIM SKYward and advancing student success efforts on campus.

This marks the second consecutive year SKYCTC has received national recognition for the strength and impact of its writing program, further highlighting the college’s commitment to instructional excellence and student achievement.
