
SKYCTC Honors Student Achievement at Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony

Bowling Green, KY –Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) recently recognized academic excellence and student leadership during its Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Beta Upsilon Alpha Chapter induction ceremony, welcoming a new class of high-achieving students into the prestigious honor society.
Phi Theta Kappa is the premier international honor society for two-year colleges, recognizing students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and a commitment to scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. To be eligible, students must complete a minimum number of college-level credit hours and maintain a high-grade point average.
During the ceremony, inductees were formally welcomed into the organization and recognized for their dedication to academic success. Family members, friends, faculty, and college leadership gathered to celebrate the students’ accomplishments and encourage their continued growth.
Students inducted into Phi Theta Kappa at SKYCTC include: Izabela Alonzo-Gomez, Kairi Frazier, Brooke Harp, Judy James, Selena Hones, Quartez Lynch Sr., Harper Rhys Tolliver Osborne, Summer Payne, Peter Tran, Kristy Wilson, Savannah Yursulik, Katie Smith, and Jorge Bravo.
In addition, the College recognized outgoing Phi Theta Kappa officers for their leadership and service. Those honored included Alex Smith, President; Harper Osborne, Vice President; Selena Jones, Secretary; Peter Tran, Vice President of Scholarship; Kairi Frazier, Vice President of Leadership; Cloe Woosley, Vice President of Service; and Eden West, Vice President of Media.
“Being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa is a significant achievement,” said PTK Faculty Advisor Tammy Willinger-Frederick. “These students have demonstrated not only academic excellence, but also the determination and leadership that will help them succeed in their future endeavors.”
New members will have access to a variety of opportunities through PTK, including scholarships, leadership development programs, and community service initiatives. Participation in the organization also connects students to a nationwide network of scholars and professionals.
The induction ceremony reflects SKYCTC’s ongoing commitment to supporting student success and recognizing those who go above and beyond in their academic journey.
