BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A day of friendly competition on the golf course turned into a meaningful investment in student success as Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) raised $32,000 during its 14th Annual Scholarship Scramble, held Friday, October 16, 2026, at Crosswinds Golf Course in Bowling Green.

The annual fundraising tournament brought together 34 teams and 136 golfers, including community supporters, business partners and friends of the college, who joined forces to help make higher education more accessible and affordable for students throughout southcentral Kentucky.

With this year's successful event, the Scholarship Scramble has now raised more than $600,000 over the past 14 years, providing vital financial assistance to students pursuing degrees, diplomas and certificates at SKYCTC.

"Every year, we are inspired by the generosity of our community and the tremendous support shown for our students," said Heather Rogers, Executive Director of the SKYCTC Foundation. "The Scholarship Scramble is about so much more than a day of golf. It is about creating opportunities, removing financial barriers and helping students achieve their dreams. Raising $32,000 this year is a testament to the commitment of our sponsors, golfers and volunteers who believe in the power of education to change lives."

As students balance the costs of tuition, textbooks, transportation and other expenses, financial assistance plays an important role in helping them stay on track toward earning credentials that prepare them for rewarding careers.

"When our community invests in SKYCTC students, it is investing in the future of our region," Rogers added. "These scholarships help students build better futures for themselves and their families while preparing the skilled professionals and community leaders who will make a difference for generations to come."

The SKYCTC Foundation works to advance the college's mission by securing private financial support for scholarships, educational programs and initiatives that enhance student success. Through partnerships with individuals, businesses and community organizations, the Foundation helps ensure that financial challenges do not prevent deserving students from pursuing their educational and career goals.
