SKY Adult Education offers instruction for adults interested in improving their math and language skills for work. We offer instruction and testing for the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), an industry-recognized, portable, evidence-based credential that certifies essential skills needed for workplace success. The certificate communicates a job-seeker's work-related skills in the areas of applied mathematics, reading for information, and locating information. This certificate assists employers by serving as a valuable tool in making employment and training decisions for prospective employees.

Adults interested in improving their math and language skills for work or leaning more about NCRC should contact our SKY Adult Education Centers.

Essential Skills/Soft Skills Certificate

We offer students the opportunity to earn a certificate that demonstrates they have the types of skills employers are seeking. A Kentucky Essential Skills Certificate (KESC) certifies that an individual successfully completed coursework in:

  • Communicating Effectively
  • Conveying Professionalism
  • Promoting Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Thinking Critically & Solving Problems

Individuals can earn an NCRC and KESC for free as part of an academic program of study and in pursuit of other credentials such as the GED diploma.

For more information about the NCRC and Essential Skills certificates, please contact our SKY Adult Education Centers.
