Drawn from Nature: Works on Paper
Artist: Laurin Notheisen
This regional spotlight exhibition presents works-on-paper by Bowling Green artist Laurin Notheisen. Featuring intimate graphite drawings, watercolors, and prints, the exhibition explores the quiet complexity of natural spaces.
Through careful observation and the manipulation of photography, Notheisen layers her mark making to build compositions filled with natural curiosities. Her work invites viewers to slow down and engage with seemingly familiar environments. Viewers are often drawn in by the sensitivity of Notheisen’s rendering and held by the underlying rhythms and textures that echo the vitality and buzz of the natural world.

When Sorrows Come
Artist: Sisavanh Phouthavong Houghton
When Sorrows Come is a visiting artist exhibition featuring work by Sisavanh Phouthavong Houghton, Professor of Studio Arts in Painting at Middle Tennessee State University. Drawing from her experience as a Lao American refugee immigrant, her paintings explore the trauma of the Vietnam War alongside the realities of contemporary conflict.
