SKYCTC students sign ‘Going Pro’ agreements with AESC at ceremony
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, four Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) students took a significant step in their careers by signing ‘Going Pro’ agreements with AESC as full-time Maintenance Technicians.
Luke Oliver-Williams, Kolton Hudson, Triton Morris, and Destinee Page have completed their Associate’s in Applied Science Degree in Engineering & Electronics Technology with a focus in Robotics and Automation at SKYCTC.
AESC, a global leader in developing and manufacturing high-performance batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems, has partnered with SKYCTC Workforce Solutions to offer a Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship program allows students to gain hands-on experience while earning their degree. Upon graduation, students who meet attendance and grade requirements are being offered full-time positions with AESC. As the company expands, these students will begin working part-time with AESC, earning up to $20 per hour while gaining valuable industry experience.
AESC’s new 30-gigawatt plant in Bowling Green’s Transpark will create 2,000 skilled jobs in the region, making this apprenticeship program an invaluable opportunity for local talent.
