Discover scholarships designed to help you achieve your goals at SKYCTC.
At Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC), we believe cost should never stand in the way of your education. Our scholarships make college more affordable and are supported by generous individuals, businesses, and community partners.
Awards are available for students in all programs — from general need-based scholarships to those focused on areas like Culinary Arts, Electrical Technology, Nursing, and Allied Health.
If selected, you’ll receive an acceptance email to your KCTCS student account. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to file a FAFSA each year, maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress, meet award criteria, and thank their donor. How to Apply for Scholarships
One Application. Multiple Opportunities.
What’s so special about our online scholarship application? It identifies which scholarships are the best fit for you while you're completing the application! You won't have to worry about determining what you're eligible for—the system does it for you.
Fill out ONE online application and be considered for multiple awards. Students do not need to apply for individual scholarships during the application process, as they will be automatically matched to scholarships for which they meet the criteria.
The scholarship application has two parts:
- KCTCS General Application
- Southcentral Conditional Application
Keep these instructions and tips handy while starting your new online scholarship application:
- The new online scholarship application works best in the following web browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
- Please, be sure to sign in with your full KCTCS username (example: jdoe001@kctcs.edu
– the “@kctcs.edu” is necessary) and password under the “Applicants and Administrators”
tab.
- New students will be able to access their username and password just a few days after submitting their initial Application for Admission. If you haven’t applied for admission yet, please do that before applying for scholarships!
- If you need help with your login information, please contact SKYSupport@kctcs.edu.
- To be considered for scholarships, you must submit the General KCTCS application, and when prompted complete the additional questions specific to SKYCTC scholarships. Be sure to complete both sections!

- SKYCTC offers scholarships for students who may not qualify for traditional financial aid but still need help covering college costs—especially those in the middle-income range. How does a scholarship affect your financial aid?
Receiving a scholarship is great news — it helps reduce the amount you need to pay for college! However, because all your financial aid combined can’t be more than your total cost of attendance, your scholarship may change how your other aid is applied.
If you’re awarded a scholarship, let the SKYCTC Financial Aid Office know right away. They’ll review your aid package and make any necessary adjustments — for example, reducing loan amounts before need-based grants. This ensures you’re getting the maximum benefit from your financial aid.
Have questions? SKYCTC is here to help! Check out our FAQ page for general questions about SKYCTC Scholarships: Scholarship Application Guide and FAQs.
Good luck with your scholarship application — we’re cheering you on!
