Important Winter 2026 Financial Aid Information
SKYCTC’s Winter 2026 session begins on December 14, 2026, and ends January 10, 2027.
- You must have a 2026-27 FAFSA on file to be considered for federal and some state aid programs. If you need help filling out the FAFSA for the current or next year, complete the SKY Educational Opportunity Center application, and someone will be in touch.
- Hours enrolled for winter session will be combined with your spring enrollment for
financial aid purposes.
- Your Pell & CAP Grants will be based on your combined winter and spring registration. For example, 3 hours in winter and 6 hours in spring equals 9 spring hours for financial aid purposes.
- If you have already been awarded Pell & CAP Grants based on full-time enrollment for the spring semester, adding winter hours will not increase your Pell or CAP Grant awards.
- If you are planning to graduate after the winter session, please speak to a financial aid counselor to explore potential options.
- If you need to apply for loans and are registered in at least 6 credit hours that are program applicable, follow these Instructions to Request a Loan.
- Federal aid can only be awarded for courses that are Program Applicable.
- If your anticipated spring aid is more than your spring charges, including charges for winter enrollment, you may be eligible to purchase your books and have them charged to your student account.
- If your spring aid is more than your spring charges, including charges for winter enrollment, you should receive residual funds.
- Spring aid is based on combined winter and spring enrollment, so any residual funds will be released according to the spring disbursement schedule.
- Pell Grants will not be disbursed until attendance has begun in all classes and are based on enrollment hours as of the spring census date. Hours added after the census date will not be included for Pell Grant purposes.
- There is not a separate evaluation for SAP for the winter term. Your SAP status will be evaluated at the end of the spring term and will include your winter enrollment.
- Financial aid awards are based on combined winter and spring credit hours. If you drop before the 100% period, your aid will be based on your enrollment at that time.
- If you register for classes during the winter session and subsequently drop or withdraw, you will be responsible for any charges incurred. Your financial aid will be adjusted based on your revised enrollment level.
- If you are reported as a No-Show, your financial aid will be adjusted to reflect the actual number of hours in which you began attendance.
- If you totally withdraw, cease attending classes, or receive all failing grades (E, F, W, or I), you will be subject to the Return to Title IV policy. If your attendance is documented by an instructor past the 60% point of the semester, you will not be subject to this policy.
- If you receive an Incomplete grade without completion of any other courses for the same term, you may be subject to a return of funds if the Incomplete is not converted to a grade within 45 days.
- You are responsible for any winter charges not otherwise covered by financial aid.
- Refer to Payment Plans for information on payment plan options.
- In the event you need to withdraw for the winter term, refer to the Academic Calendar for refund deadlines.
- All financial aid awards are subject to change without notice due to changes in eligibility and/or governing regulations.
